The tree is up, the Secret Santa names have been drawn and you are working your way through writing that pile of Christmas cards. Now it’s time for our favourite festive activity of all: Christmas nail art! To fuel your creativity, we’ve put together some classic manicure suggestions that always go down well at a party.
Get this gorgeously festive look by applying two layers of White Lily to your ring finger, Silver Glitter to your middle finger and Scarlet Red to your remaining nails, curing between rounds. Repeat for both hands. Use a Marbling and Dotting Nail Tool to draw snowflake shapes onto the white nails using red polish. Cure one hand at a time. Finally, apply a layer of No Wipe Gel Top Coat on all nails and cure for 15 seconds.
SNOWY LOG CABIN
Time to get creative with your feature nails! To recreate this manicure, apply two layers of Blue Yonder to all of your nails, curing between rounds. This manicurist has painted a little snowy tree on the ring finger and log cabin with glowing moon on the other hand. We’d recommend doing an outline of your Christmas scene with our White Lily polish and Slanted Nail Brush, adding in a thicker layer for the snow with the Marbling and Dotting Nail Tool. Cure. Apply a layer of Matte Gel Top Coat on all nails to give that gorgeous wintery, matte finish. Cure.
THE PARTY CLASSIC
Nothing beats red, gold and green for a classic party manicure. Apply two layers of Gold Glitter to your middle finger, Camo-Sutra to your ring finger and Royal Ruby to your remaining nails. Cure between rounds and repeat on the other hand. Apply a layer of No Wipe Gel Top Coat on all nails and cure for 15 seconds.
O CHRISTMAS TREE, O CHRISTMAS TREE
Have a go at this most festive of manicures by painting your ring finger with two layers of green gel such as Mostly Mint and your remaining nails with Scarlet Red. Cure between layers. Use a Marbling and Dotting Nail Tool to apply dots of White Lily all over your thumb, and a bit of extra snow along the nail edge. Cure. On your middle fingers, use a Slanted Nail Brush to paint a triangle with Mostly Mint with the tip finishing in the middle of your cuticle. Cure. Apply a layer of No Wipe Gel Top Coat on all nails and cure for 15 seconds. Cover the green triangles with Pearl Silver Nail Studs, and you have yourself some mini Christmas trees!
Check out that shine! Get a similar look by painting your ring finger with two layers of Silver Glitter gel polish, curing between rounds. Paint the rest of your nails with two layers of Midnight Rendezvous, curing between layers. Use a dry, lint free cloth to wipe over nails and remove the moisture layer from the black nails. Apply a small amount of your Silver Chrome Powder (Note - you can get an original gel plus chrome powder for £15 here)to the nail and buff it in with the applicator. Apply a layer of Topcoat to all nails and cure.
A FESTIVE SURPRISE
We love this mani with two unexpected feature nails. Recreate something similar by applying two layers of Little Gold Dress to your ring finger. Cure. Apply two layers of Fuchsia Fireworks to the same finger on the other hand. Cure. Paint on two layers of Scarlet Red to all your remaining nails, curing between layers. Use the Marbling and Dotting Nail Tool to draw a snowflake shape onto the pink nail with White Lily polish. Cure. Apply a layer of Topcoat to all nails and cure.
